My mum and her partner Ian have finally arrived in London for their month long holiday around the UK and France. It's been great to see mum again after all this time. We caught up on the first Saturday for a lovely day in London. We started off at Borough market in Southwark, then strolled along the South Bank, checking out the Golden Hinde (a reconstruction of Sir Francis Drake's ship), a few Morris dancers at a riverside festival, the Millenium bridge, Trafalgar square and Covent Garden. Then we took them out to see Billy Elliot at the West End and i spent a day on the Thames and Greenwich with them. After that, they took off to France for a week or so. Mum seems to be lapping up the experience so far which is great to see. They got back to London on Saturday, just in time for a BBQ for my birthday followed by a trip out to Windsor castle. Jürgen, Doris and Anne came over from Germany to meet them, which was great.
Here are some photos from Mum's time with us. She's got her own camera now, so you can expect her to add some of her own photos from their upcoming travels around the rest of the UK :)
